Indianapolis, IN (January 2021) – BMWC Constructors, Inc. (BMWC) is pleased to announce the Board of Directors has unanimously elected Chris A. Buckman as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2021. Mr. Buckman accepts this position in addition to his previously held role as President of BMWC Constructors, Inc. and will now be holding both titles. In his new role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Buckman replaces Brian K. Acton who will remain with the company in a reduced role as Executive Chairman.

Mr. Buckman joined the company as a Project Engineer in BMWC’s Indianapolis office after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1997. Always looking at ways to improve the business and promoted into larger Project Manager roles, Mr. Buckman led the introduction of sheet metal fabrication services and fire protection as part of expanding BMWC’s suite of offerings. Mr. Buckman continued taking on greater responsibility managing some of BMWC’s most valuable client relationships and upon successive moves from Vice President of Corporate Construction to his role as President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Buckman orchestrated the expansion into new geographic locations while also introducing virtual design technology services across BMWC’s entire enterprise for improved project productivity. Mr. Buckman also holds multiple national and regional leadership positions in construction industry associations critical to the business.
BMWC’s Board of Directors would also like to thank Mr. Acton and his family for 35 years of dedicated service since his start as Project Engineer in 1985. During his career, Mr. Acton played a critical role in diversifying the company’s national footprint specifically in the semiconductor and aerospace industries and as CEO, Mr. Acton’s unwavering dedication toward safety has brought BMWC national recognition for safety mentoring and leadership across North America. Through those efforts, BMWC has earned the reputation as a valuable and highly skilled national contractor that has performed work in over half of the 50 US states under his leadership.
