MCAI Annual Convention Recap, Dave Newhart receives DSA, Officers and Directors Elected

The 2018 MCA of Indiana (MCAI) Convention was held June 22-24 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN .  One hundred fifty people attended the convention. Convention highlights included the Hits and Grins singer/songwriter showcase, a keynote session by Keni Thomas, U.S. Army Rangers Veteran of “Black Hawk Down” Mission, the annual golf outing, tours of the Historic RCA Studio B and the Country Music Hall of Fame, and a live show at the Grand Ole Opry.

Dave Newhart, Ed Grace Division, Shambaugh & Son, LP, was awarded the MCAI Distinguished Service Award (DSA).  The DSA is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the goals of the association.  He was recognized for his many years of service to the mechanical construction industry, specifically his contributions to Wabash Valley MCA and MCAI.

Scott Hinton, Harrell-Fish Inc.,  was elected to serve as President of MCAI at the 2018 MCAI Annual Convention. John Vinitski, Sterling Boiler and Mechanical, Inc.,  was elected as Vice President.  Russ Leach, Leach & Russell Mechanical Contractors, Inc. was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Curt Mirwaldt, Project Design & Piping, Inc., will serve as Chairman of the Board. Tim Stuver, Dave Newhart, Dave Irish, John Sexson, Joe Bayer, and Gary Perkey were elected to new terms on the Board of Directors. The other Board of Directors are Steve Dawson, Mark Unger, Kevin Conery, Greg Fuller,  Jim Miller, and Keith Brennan.
